What you'll be doing:

Product development chemist is working on new formula development according to Cosmetic Directive and Avon rules to create high performing, inclusive, high quality products and sustainable. Works with other R&D partners to qualify formulation safety, compliance, stability and performance. Ensures formulation work is on track for key project milestones. Responsible for technical development of product formulation from mkt brief to launch. Defines areas of opportunity for improved sustainability in both new and existing formulas across all beauty categories.

Key responsibilities:

Develop new formulas according to marketing briefs keeping cost target and timelines Defines areas of opportunity for improved sustainability in new formulas across all beauty categories to enable a clear sustainable formulation strategy. Be aware in terms of market trends and market expectations Uses technical methods and sensory testing to evaluate product performance and ensure targets are delivered. Works with R&D partner functions and Market Research to qualify product safety, efficacy, compliance, stability and quality and to validate product performance with the consumer

We would love you to have:

Expertise in cosmetic raw ingredients and understanding their role in the formula Expertise in product development and strong technical problem solving skills, ability to identify new sustainable solutions and work with external partners to bring new solutions in. Lab bench skills and technical competency. Experience in R&D in FMCG industry, ideally in Beauty / Personal care, or other lab based experience on product development. Degree in a scientific discipline – chemistry or related Strong chemistry and analytical training as well as problem solving, interpersonal, team, bench and communications skills. Strong organizational competencies and able to work successfully in a matrix global environment. 3 -5 years product development experience in cosmetic industry. Good English language communication skills (writing and speaking) Structured approach to research and data analysis, strong leadership and collaboration skills; supervisory experience desired.
