Role purpose:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented FinOps Specialist to join our CIO Office.
As a FinOps Specialist, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our cloud financial management processes and ensuring cost efficiency in our cloud infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing cloud usage, implementing cost control strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align financial and operational goals.
Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed analysis of cloud usage and expenditure to identify opportunities for cost optimization. Develop and implement FinOps best practices to manage and control cloud costs effectively. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams to align financial goals with operational strategies. Design and implement budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes for cloud expenditures. Monitor and report on key financial metrics related to cloud usage, costs, and performance. Work closely with vendors and negotiate favourable pricing structures to optimize cost efficiency. Identify and recommend improvements to operational processes that impact cloud cost management. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in FinOps. Provide training and guidance to teams on FinOps principles and practices. Establish governance policies to ensure cost-effective use of cloud resources.Requirements :
Proven experience in financial analysis, cost management, or related roles. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. A Master’s degree in Finance, Information Technology, or a related field. Certification in FinOps or relevant cloud certifications is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. Quality and deadline oriented. Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level.
