Due to constant development, currently, we are seeking an experienced candidate for the Senior Scientist position, to join the developing High Content Screening facility within a large project initially focused on assay development in the areas of neuroinflammation and fibrosis. This position works closely with other members of Selvita including cell biologists and AI-based imaging analysis experts. We are seeking a self-motivated applicant with a strong interest in high-content experimentation and assay development for drug discovery. The person will have strong hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture (including some experience with hiPSC-derived cells), immunofluorescence/immunocytochemistry, standard molecular biology methods, direct knowledge of software for imaging analysis, and basic skills on new scripts generation for the development of innovative HCS phenotypic assays.

Region Kraków Key responsibilities The principal role in the development and coordination of novel high-content assays for drug screening in a multi-task project Supervise cell cultures in ongoing projects and eventually hands-on support to collaborators (e.g. junior scientists) Execute medium to high-throughput assays for drug discovery and further compound pharmacological characterization Work collaboratively with other scientists in particular for the generation of new scripts or analytical AI and Machine Learning-based methods for high-content analysis Execute, troubleshoot and communicate tasks independently and effectively Perform data analysis and write reports on research findings, reporting directly to the project leader Maintain extremely organized and accurate records Provide regular feedback at inter-team meetings Provide routine scientific reports Your background MSc in Biology, Molecular Biosciences, Biotechnology or related disciplines with a minimum of four years of experience in an industrial environment (preferably Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biosciences, Molecular Cell Biology, Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, or related scientific disciplines with a minimum of two years of experience in an academic post-doc or industrial environment) Strong experience with mammalian cell culture (experience with hiPSC/hESC and primary cells is highly desired) Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry and imaging acquisition (in particular confocal imaging) strong experience and basic knowledge of FRET analysis. Experience with High Content Screening systems in a medium to high-throughput assay fashion with strong skills in cell-based assay development and validation with standard HTS/HCA parameters.
