About the team:
E-Commerce Platform is a new backend team at Box critical to our Growth organization - responsible for building the systems that enable all existing and prospective customers of any size and scale to purchase, adopt, and manage their Box subscription through our self-service experiences. This work will help Box expand into new international markets, provide all customers access to Box’s full suite of offerings, and enhance our pricing & discount offer engine to fuel business growth. These services power purchases that make up a sizable portion of Box’s revenue, so uptime and reliability are paramount. Near-term projects include modernizing our tech stack to improve performance and developer productivity as well as expanding backend capabilities for purchasing Box which will generate net-new recurring revenue for the business.
Who you are:
10+ years of professional software development experience with an understanding of best practicesFluent in at least one of the OOP language (Java or/and PHP)Hands-on experience with building highly scalable distributed systemsGood understanding of scalability and observability practicesAct like an owner and strive to do work you're proud of, both technically and in your team interactionsYou are a problem solver and you look for a team of like-minded peopleYou have a deep understanding of algorithms, data structures and software designYou are experienced in helping define REST APIsDemonstrable experience in guiding and mentoring a team of high performing engineersExperience leading cross functional projectsHave proficient knowledge of software designSolid experience with automated testing principles and frameworksMust speak English proficientlyPreferred Skills:
Prior experience in the e-commerce domainExperience working with distributed teams in different time zonesPrior experience with NodeJS, and/or ReactPercentage of time spent:
