We are currently looking for a candidate to join our team for the position of Senior Electrical Engineer on one of our projects in Bulgaria.

Responsibilities:

Preconstruction:

  • Assist in the review of design documentation produced by others, including material and equipment specifications.
  • Assist in the review and providing inputs into EPC Agreement.
  • Assist in the review project plans (Quality, HSE, Coordination/Management, Traffic) produced by EPC Contractor
  • Assist in the development of Forte’s project plan (written to define how site will be managed and to ensure compliance to Forte’s contractual requirements).
  • Miscellaneous support as required by Client and in line with Forte’s contract with Client (support in NTP, application of missing permits, coordination with landowners)

Construction & Post-Construction:

  • Lead Forte’s (Owners Engineering) site team in coordinating site works and ensuring EPC contractor’s works are complete to high quality standards considering EPC Agreement, international industry best-practice, and local (Bulgarian) standards. Advising the Contractor, Forte, and the Client of any non-compliance and any rectification actions to be undertaken and monitoring implementation of such actions.
  • Review miscellaneous submissions by the EPC Contractor to enable construction or any revisions to the documents already reviewed as part of the ‘pre-construction’ scope.
  • Thorough reviewing, on a continuous basis, the EPC contract timetable and advise contractor, Forte, and Client on potential risks.
  • Undertaking routine quality inspections of the site (from mobilization through to commissioning, testing, take-over inspections and punch list preparation up to COD), particularly during key activities, such as when works are concealed or relied upon for subsequent scopes. Maintain records (checklists, photo reports) of all inspections by Forte.
  • Develop monthly progress reports ummarizing key activities by site contractors and Forte for the period, quality and HSE issues and risks, schedule summary, key stats, etc.
  • Participate (and lead where required) weekly and monthly project coordination meetings with EPC Contractor and Client.
  • Assist in HSE and Risk Management (with support from HSE inspector). Keep risk and issues register up to date, conduct periodic high-level HSE inspections (HSE inspector will perform monthly detailed inspections), and ensure HSE issues and risks are communicated to Contractor, Client, and Forte.
  • Manage key stakeholders – landowners, grid operator, client, other authorities.
  • Review and provide recommendations to Client of EPC Contractor’s contractual milestone and variation claims.
  • Ensure virtual data room is managed by Forte in accordance with Forte’s contractual requirements (with assistance from Assistant Engineer).
  • Supervise cold and hot commissioning and verify results (with assistance from back-office PV specialists.
  • Supervise performance ratio guarantee tests at site on all the important equipment / systems; review and evaluation of test results, with comments / recommendations. Conducting of independent calculations to verify test results (with assistance from back-office PV specialists).
  • Review and approve as-built documentation for the projects.
  • Evaluate the completion of the Works prior to issuing of the Mechanical Completion Certificate.
  • Development of final report detailing the compliance of the project to considering EPC Agreement, international industry best-practice, and local (Bulgarian) standards results (with assistance from back-office PV, structural, electrical specialists as needed), as well as summarise planned V actual contract schedule, price, achieved performance, etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7.5 years in energy or construction industries in Bulgaria, or 10 years in energy or construction industries internationally AND 3 years in Bulgaria, plus
  • Minimum 5 years in renewable energy in general, or 3 years specific to PV Power Plans (>5MWp).
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus any additional Bulgarian Building Law requirements for supervision of construction works.
  • Bulgarian C2 (fluent), and English B2 (good working proficiency)
  • Willing and have legal right to work on site in Bulgaria.
  • Based in Bulgaria. Local accommodation and logistics support provided, international relocation to Bulgaria not provided.
  • Willing and able to attend Forte’s Warsaw office for up to 1 month for onboarding and to assist in pre-construction tasks with back office technical team. Logistics and accommodation will be provided by Forte for travel to Poland.
