Business Unit Parts and Field Service in Marine Power is looking to welcome an enthusiastic Senior Service Engineer  to join our team. The role is offered on a permanent basis and will be based in  Gdansk, Poland.

As a Senior Service Engineer, your responsibilities for the role include:

Performing mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on Wärtsilä products or similar medium bore diesel engines. Engine component overhauls in workshop and on site, including some in situ machining. Checking and adjusting relevant systems (i.e. auxiliary equipment). Pre-commissioning and mechanical commissioning of engines Identifying failures, making adjustments, assisting on trial runs, and testing of mechanical installations according to instructions. Providing internal and external work reports in accordance with Wärtsilä standards. Performing site audits. Collecting and organizing time and expense reports, informing administrative personnel as required.

To be successful in this role, we expect you have:

B. Sc. / High School Diploma /Technical School / Vocational School (preferably Marine, Mechanical)  Experience as a Mechanical Engineer on Wärtsilä diesel engines or similar. Information management skills, including MS Office Tools. Strong knowledge of auxiliary equipment. Electrical troubleshooting skills are considered an advantage. Good command of English and Polish, both written and verbal. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Desire to work in a multicultural environment. Ability to perform under pressure. Motivation to learn and grow professionally. Willingness to travel at least 7-8 months per year. Experience of generating technical reports.
