Senior MS-SQL Administrator

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with at least 10+ years of extensive experience as an SQL Server Administrator. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in MS-SQL DBA advanced database administration. and high-availability solutions. DBA must know how to Install /Configure/Maintain MS-SQL databases. DBA must have strong knowledge of Python Scripting and Automation. This role is critical for ensuring our mission-critical databases’ optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Database Administration :Create new Microsoft SQL Server instances, configure and maintain database servers and processes, and Download and install SQL Server service packs and updates.

• SQL Server Administrator: Expert MS-SQL DB administrator, configured and maintained SQL Security controls, Proactively monitored SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed processes

• Backup and Recovery: Manage database backup and recovery and disaster recovery planning.

• High Availability and Scalability: Configure and manage high-availability solutions such asincluding AlwaysOn availability groups and failover clustering;well-versed with replication methodology, HA configuration, and failover in MS-SQL Database

• Security Management: Develop and enforce comprehensive security policies for database access, encryption, and auditing; perform Security patchesand upgrades.

• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for complex database issues, including performance bottlenecks, corruption issues, and critical failures. 

• Capacity Planning and Growth: Analyze current and future database capacity requirements and plan for scalability to accommodate growth and evolving business needs.

• Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation of database architectures, configurations, and processes. Provide regular reports on database performance and status.

• Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, infrastructure teams, and other IT stakeholders to support and enhance database-driven applications and services.

• Automation: Strong end-to-end Automation Skills, Excellent knowledge of Python scripting, Terraform, etc.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are highly desirable.

Experience & Technical Skills:

◦ Minimum of 10+ years of strong experience as a SQL Server Administrator

◦ 5+ years of Proven track record in backup, recovery, and applying security Patches.

◦ 4+ years of Proficiency in Managing and configuring High Availability and DR configurations.

◦ Must have5+ years of Proficiency in Python scripting and end to end Automation,

◦ 2+ years of Strong familiarity with Azure Arc and other monitoring and manag ment tools like Service Now.

◦ 5+ Years of Strong familiarity withexperience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) with working knowledge on Terraform

◦ Good to have Oracle DBA knowledge and troubleshooting skills.

Additional information:

Hybrid work, 2 days per week
