Are you our new Strategic Partner / Expert Data management specialist? 

About the position

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Expert Data Management Specialist/Strategic Partner within our Data Risk Reduction Programme, to join our technology organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the implementation of BCBS239 principles, overseeing the transition to data products, and leading the adoption of data mesh architecture from a technology delivery perspective. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our data management practices meet regulatory requirements, support business objectives, and promote innovation. You will also act as an executive advisor to the team. 

Your future responsibilities

BCBS239 Implementation:

Lead the adherence to BCBS239 principles, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and reliability in risk data aggregation and reporting. Collaborate with risk management, compliance, and IT teams to develop and implement strategies for BCBS239 compliance. Monitor and report on BCBS239 implementation progress, addressing any gaps or issues promptly. Data Products Transition: Drive the shift from traditional data management approaches to a data product mindset. Define and manage data product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. Work closely with product owners, data engineers, and other stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain high-quality data products. Data Mesh Architecture Adoption: Lead the design and implementation of a data mesh architecture to decentralize data ownership and improve scalability. Define and promote best practices for data mesh, including domain-oriented decentralized data ownership and self-serve data infrastructure. Collaborate with domain teams to ensure successful adoption and integration of data mesh principles. Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business leaders, IT, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and drive data management initiatives. Communicate data management strategies, progress, and outcomes to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Foster a data-driven culture within the organization, promoting the value and importance of effective data management. Regulatory and Compliance Oversight: Stay updated with regulatory changes and industry best practices related to data management in financial services. Ensure data management practices comply with relevant regulations, including BCBS239, GDPR, and other applicable standards. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Your profile and background

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in data management, with a focus on financial services. Proven experience in driving BCBS239 compliance and implementing data management strategies in a regulated environment. Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of data management frameworks, BCBS239 principles, and regulatory requirements in financial services. Strong expertise in data architecture, data products, and data mesh concepts. Proficiency in data modelling, data governance, and data quality management tools and methodologies. Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership and project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into effective data management solutions
