About this opportunity

Welcome to Group Internal Audit (GIA). We are an independent function, supporting the Nordea Group Board and Group Executive Management in protecting the assets, reputation and sustainability of the largest bank in the Nordics.

In the Data & Analytics team we assist auditors with challenging data analysis tasks and use data science to enable innovative audit approaches in audit projects.

 
As a Data Analyst (Internal Auditor) in the Data & Analytics team in GIA, you will have an unique opportunity to perform data analytics on data sources from all over the Bank. The results of your analyses will have a direct impact on the management of key risks in Nordea. On top of that, you will get a chance to drive key aspects of GIA’s data analytics strategy.

 
What you’ll be doing:

Contributing to various projects with data analytics: participating in audits as a data expert, performing data extraction and cleansing, conducting data exploration and complex data analyses,  Developing and maintaining data knowledge and expertise on key data assets in Nordea,  Applying advanced analytical techniques (incl. machine learning) useful for auditing, such as outlier detection and analysis, natural language processing, network analysis, etc.,  Contributing to the development of data analytics capabilities and to the change in mindset in the organization by e.g. advocating the use of data analytics, sharing knowledge, running training sessions etc.,  Driving innovation and challenging the way we work,  Contributing to the development and maintenance of data analytics tools and dashboards. 

 
The role can be based in either Finland (Helsinki) or Poland (in either Warsaw, Gdynia, Gdańsk or Łódź). 

You will be part of the D&A team located in Gdańsk, Warsaw, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm. Group Internal Audit prioritizes use of technology to facilitate efficient, flexible working. This means that although you will work with colleagues in the Nordics, travel is kept at family and environmentally friendly levels.

Your experience and background: 

Master’s degree in a quantitative subject such as mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field,  Practical experience in applying data analytics to solve real-world problems, including data extraction, cleaning and transformation,  Proficiency with SQL, Python and data visualization tools,  Fluency in written and spoken English,  Hands-on skills in implementation of machine learning techniques would be an advantage,  Some understanding of or experience with risk management, controlling or audit in the financial industry is a significant plus.
