Description
The Tactical Buyer is responsible for the delivery and execution of procurement projects within predefined threshold and activities across the Global Procurement categories as needed; and is expected to have knowledge of at least basic project management practices, work effectively in general procurement aspects and deal professionally with market dynamics, supplier performance situations, risks, projects status, total spend, contractual setup, etc.
The Tactical Buyer must be able to prioritize assigned tasks (based on e.g. cost, timeline or complexity) and align these priorities and internal Global Procurement stakeholders. He/she can seek and expect guidance from immediate manager and senior colleagues, but remain an active team player towards the rest of the team.
The Tactical Buyer is expected to deal with vendors and internal stakeholders, have a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills and high quality of deliverables.
The Tactical Buyer must understand the general mechanisms of supply markets, tender management as well as contract and supplier management.
The Tactical Buyer is expected to:
Manage procurement projects and tasks (e.g. execute Work Orders under Takeda’s MSA’s, direct purchases, tenders and RfX processes etc.) in the Tactical Procurement pipeline Support execution of Strategic Procurement projects managed by Category Managers or Business Partners Independent management of Procurement subcategory (if applicable) Supporting high value or high complexity procurement projects or leading them under supervision- Independenly identify savings opportunities
- Deliver predefined savings within agreed category Negotiate agreements and contracts and ensure best possible terms and conditions for Takeda, as well as ensure all suppliers are covered by active contracts, in cooperation with Category Managers and Global Legal Conduct review meetings with key stakeholders in Global Procurement Actively handle knowledge transfer based on market and business needs defined in the category/subcategory in cooperation with Category Managers Participate in Supplier Relationship Management activities (governance, personal meetings, supplier evaluations across Takeda, facilitate and resolve dispute) Be a trusted advisor for stakeholders in all the aspect of procurement Ensure that day to day procurement decisions are taken according to the Procurement Policy
Professional competencies:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree; Minimum 5 years professional experience (E2E sourcing and contract management) in a similar role within an international environment Experience with leading RFx and project management of global tenders Procurement expertise (regional and global markets understanding, procurement guidelines, supplier relationship management, risk management etc.) Business insights within the pharma industry Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (any additional language is an advantage).Behavioral competencies:
