Our Smart Energy client is developing a product that enables smart grids and is an essential part of the energy transition. To strengthen the team, we are looking for a talented and motivated Lead Embedded Linux C/C++ software engineer with a focus on IT security and IoT. 

Responsibilities:
  • Coordination of work on the development and implementation of embedded solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with project requirements and timely delivery of high-quality embedded software.
  • Developing and managing the architecture of software and hardware in embedded projects.
  • Designing and developing efficient and reliable embedded applications primarily in C and C++, occasionally in Go or Rust, intended for microcontrollers based on the ARM architecture.
  • Developing schedules, resource planning, progress monitoring, and reporting project status.
  • Managing the entire lifecycle of software functions, from initial concept to deployment and stable operation.
  • Ensuring the Linux operating system remains up-to-date and is precisely tailored to support new hardware versions and features.
  • Close cooperation with the hardware team.
  • Developing software for critical infrastructure, incorporating robust security features.
  • Handling data encryption and signing.
  • Regular meetings with clients to understand their needs, present progress, and obtain feedback.
  • Managing a three-person team of engineers, delegating tasks, solving technical problems, and mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Conducting code, design, and technical documentation reviews.
  • Keeping track of trends and technological innovations in the embedded industry, proposing and implementing innovative technological solutions.
  • Engaging in the development of smart grid communication devices.
  • Supporting the digitization of power grids and actively leading the energy transition.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in programming and software architecture in C/C++, ideally in IoT projects with a focus on security (PKI, TLS cipher suites, X.509).
  • Experience in programming in Go and Rust, and familiarity with networking technologies (IPv4, IPv6) and communication protocols (TCP, UDP, HDLC, TLS, HTTP).
  • Ability to develop schedules, plan resources, monitor progress, and report project status.
  • Ability to design and manage software and hardware architecture in embedded projects.
  • Good knowledge of embedded hardware architecture and experience in cross-compilation.
  • Experience working with Embedded Linux, including system updates and adaptation to new hardware versions.
  • Knowledge of agile software development practices and experience working with agile teams, using tools such as Jira and GitLab.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and the team.
  • Experience in managing a team of engineers, delegating tasks, solving technical problems, and mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Keeping track of trends and technological innovations in the embedded industry and proposing innovative technological solutions.
  • A degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
