Digital Content Designer

Content designers at Alcon leverage intelligent design systems to deliver impactful digital communications with efficiency, and scalability. You will work with project managers, marketing specialists, and developers to produce global digital marketing products and materials.

You will be expected to design and deliver product flows, new features, in-product language, content frameworks, navigation, product naming and more, for web platforms and proprietary portals. The Global Digital Marketing Team is a small tight-knit team driving digital marketing capability forward for Alcon and providing support for marketers in 40 countries.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Design, write, edit, and test compelling language to help users and teams meet their goals. This includes product flows, internal education materials, product playbooks, navigational nomenclature, terminology, taxonomies and other content across Alcon products and experiences.

• Apply systems thinking to the product by conducting audits of existing designs and experiences, creating information architecture, identifying gaps, and proposing solutions for design system improvements, or testing new components.

• Use your familiarity with HTML and CSS. This may involve doing things like updating language in code with internal tools, reviewing code output to pinpoint the source of an issue, and working with developers to refine the behavior of a piece of work.

• Create high-fidelity design mocks using existing components in Figma and use them to present design solutions.

• Collaborate daily with peers in every discipline, including engineering, design, research, marketing, and data science, to take products from conception to launch.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Min. 2 years’ experience in UX writing and design and fluent English.

• Examples of finished wireframes, or design mocks authored using design tools, that have been used to drive decision-making within a team.

• Experience with simplifying and persuasively communicating complex ideas to broad audiences.

• Familiarity with tools for managing and updating content at scale.

• Examples of work in design systems and systems thinking.

• Demonstrated experience leading projects with minimal direction and handling a large degree of ambiguity.
