Senior Data Governance Expert (business focus)

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting and improving the overarching framework for adequate Data Governance by designing and implementing adequate Data Governance processes, roles and methods together with relevant stakeholders.
  • Creating awareness for Data Governance and providing trainings.
  • Communicating and coordinating with all relevant stakeholders in Headquarters and the European markets of VW FS, to support them with their local Data Governance including metadata management.
  • Supporting the development and establishment of overarching processes and Data Governance including the implementation of Data Governance tools (e.g. Collibra) together with relevant markets.
  • Making the majority of Data Governance implementation transparent and comparable by defining and implementing adequate KPIs.
  • Analyzing existing data flows and the underlying business processes.
  • Identifying needs for action and autonomously developing solutions.
  • Evaluating and adapting regulatory requirements about risk data aggregation and risk reporting (e.g. BCBS 239, MaRisk etc.) and updating existing frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Successful graduation from studying economics, business administration or business informatics, (business) mathematics or a comparable field of study; alternatively: completion of a business or technical apprenticeship with appropriate further training.
  • Strong communication skills in discussions with different stakeholders and excellent English skills (C1 level) both written and spoken, as well as the ability to manage complex approaches and results-oriented way of working.
  • Very good Polish language skills (B2+ level).
  • Analytic and agile mindset with an affinity for data, precise and structured way of working, solid knowledge of data management, and a high customer orientation. Encouraging change processes and transparency.
  • 5+ years of professional experience regarding Data Governance roles, responsibilities and processes, as well as in financial services departments (e.g. Risk Management, Regulatory Reporting, Accounting), with know-how of regulatory aspects (e.g. BCBS 239).
