We're looking for a talented and experienced Senior Technical Animator to join our growing team. You will play a key role in creating fluid and dynamic character animations, working closely with animators, designers, and programmers to ensure a seamless animation pipeline in Unreal Engine 5.4.

Your Role:

  • Develop and optimize advanced character rigs and animation systems using Unreal Engine 5.4 (including Control Rig and Chaos Physics).
  • Create and maintain complex character rigs for both human characters and various animals, ensuring smooth animation and realistic movement.
  • Collaborate with animators to ensure that animations are efficiently integrated into the engine, focusing on performance and scalability.
  • Implement complex character interactions, including weapon handling, movement, and special abilities, ensuring smooth transitions and responsiveness.
  • Provide technical support to the animation team, identifying and solving technical challenges.
  • Develop and maintain animation blueprints and tools to enhance the development pipeline.
  • Create tools and plugins for Unreal Engine to streamline animation workflows and improve efficiency across the team.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical animation in the gaming industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.4, particularly Control Rig, IK, animation blueprints, and physics systems.
  • Proven experience with character animation in action or Soulslike games is a huge plus.
  • Experience in creating tools, plugins, and custom solutions* within Unreal Engine to optimize animation processes.
  • Proficiency in Python for creating automation tools and extending engine functionality.
  • Expertise in rigging both human characters and various animals, ensuring flexibility and realism in animation.
  • Proficiency in Maya, MotionBuilder, or other industry-standard 3D animation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for creating intuitive, high-quality animation systems.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment, adapting to the needs of both the animation and engineering teams.
