Job Summary

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for navigating complex issues, promoting impactful change, and communicating effectively with senior stakeholders. They will also have the opportunity to participate in ongoing expert training and development, ensuring they are fully integrated and comparable with controllers based in other global locations.

In this dynamic and rewarding work environment, the individual will be part of the Valuation Control Group, which is organized along business lines including Corporate & Investment Bank, Chief Investment Office, Treasury & Corporate, Asset Management, Consumer & Community Banking, and Commercial Banking.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Owning and overseeing the valuation control process and methodology, including price verification/benchmark process, fair value adjustments, prudential valuation adjustments, and fair value hierarchy.
  • Assisting with established practices and control initiatives, as well as performing necessary work relating to management reporting, regulatory mandates, and consistency within the broader VCG framework.
  • Partnering with functional groups on valuation-related issues and developing/implementing appropriate measures to ensure fair value.
  • Enhancing the existing control framework by reviewing independent pricing processes, assessing potential coverage developments, and implementing new tools to enhance control efficiency.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess:

  • 5+ years of related experience
  • A graduate degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or engineering
  • An ability to understand complex products and analyze transaction and process flows
  • Understanding of valuation concepts as they pertain to financial products and derivatives, basic accounting knowledge
  • An analytical aptitude and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Advanced Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently

Preferred qualifications include valuation control experience, candidates with quantitative backgrounds, and visual basic, automation, and database skills.

Please note that we are working in a hybrid model, with 3 days in the office and 2 at home.
