Job Overview

TE Connectivity's IT Operations Teams support hardware installation and configuration and ongoing maintenance of the computer/data center. They monitor batch schedules and take actions as necessary in response to schedule problems or abnormal program terminations and manage tape backups, including physical tape handling; coordinate, diagnose and troubleshoot employee issues with personal computers and related systems; provide support services to employees with technical problems and information technology issues involving desktop, laptop or network services from local personnel or from employees using network remote access. TE's IT Operations Teams provide timely resolution of problems or escalation on behalf of customer to appropriate technical personnel. They develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines relating to remote IT support. At times they may monitor and troubleshoot equipment and assist with logging and documentation, cabling, racking, and server installations.

Responsibilities:

Local Infrastructure & Devices

  1. Install & Integrate: Set up and integrate computer hardware and software, ensuring seamless network integration.
  2. Maintain & Support: Keep PCs, notebooks, tablets, smartphones, printers, and other peripherals running smoothly across our locations.
  3. Network Management: Support and maintain manufacturing networks, including machine PCs and systems like Hydra.
  4. Tech Support: Provide first and second-level user and technical support in collaboration with our partners.
  5. Security & Compliance: Oversee virus protection, data backup, documentation, license management, and SCCM reporting to ensure compliance.
  6. Server Assistance: Help with server installation and administration alongside our partners.
  7. Network Installation: Assist in setting up LANs, routers, firewalls, Aruba Wi-Fi, and network switches.
  8. Domain Administration: Manage Active Directory, group policies, user and group permissions.
  9. Intranet & SharePoint: Administer and maintain intranet and SharePoint platforms.
  10. Database Management: Set up and maintain databases when necessary.
  11. Support Transitions: Aid in acquisitions, divestitures, and various migrations/upgrades (PCs, LAN, WAN, servers, printers, smartphones, VOIP, etc.).

User Support

  1. Responsive Assistance: Manage day-to-day user requests, provide training, and implement new solutions.
  2. Comprehensive Support: Offer local support for plant/site users and remote support for EMEA sites as needed.
  3. Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with the TEIS team and our partners to deliver top-notch service.

IT Policies & Compliance

  1. Policy Adherence: Apply IT policies related to security, change management, operations, and disaster recovery.
What your background should look like:
  1. Education: University degree or equivalent in Computer Science.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft-based systems (Office Suite) and Active Directory.
  4. Language: Excellent English skills are essential.
  5. Customer Focus: Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to customer advocacy.
  6. Team Player: Ability to work well with global teams and external partners.
