Role Description

The Freelance Network Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Łódź. In this role, the engineer will plan, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and related hardware in client environments. Daily responsibilities include monitoring network performance, diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues, and applying configuration changes to ensure stability, scalability, and security. The engineer will collaborate with project managers and client IT teams to support rollout projects, migrations, and multi-location network installations, documenting configurations and changes clearly. The role also involves adhering to client standards, following best practices for network security, and providing occasional user support and technical guidance on-site.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Network Engineering and Network Design for planning, deploying, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Candidates should possess solid Network Administration skills for configuring, maintaining, and monitoring network devices and services.
  • Candidates should possess advanced Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving network performance and connectivity issues.
  • Candidates should possess Network Security skills for implementing secure configurations, access controls, and basic threat mitigation.
  • Relevant experience with enterprise-grade networking equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, HP/Aruba) and TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and VPN technologies.
  • Ability to work independently on client sites, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and document work accurately.
  • Professional certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or equivalent practical experience are highly beneficial.
  • Fluency in English, with Polish language skills considered an advantage, and eligibility to work on-site in Łódź.
