Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to optimize and improve our development process.

As a Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our software, hardware, and networks. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  1. CI/CD Tooling: Improve and implement CI/CD tooling to streamline our development process.
  2. Server Software Installation: Install and configure server software to meet the needs of our teams.
  3. System Maintenance: Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements to prevent issues and outages.
  4. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot complex issues and outages in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  5. Security: Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls to protect our data.
  6. System Upgrades: Upgrade systems with new releases and models to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies.
  7. Technical Training: Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies and best practices.
  8. Documentation: Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies to facilitate knowledge sharing.
Requirements
  1. Linux Experience: Demonstrable experience in at least one of RHEL, CentOS, Debian, or Ubuntu as a deployment platform and day-to-day development environment.
  2. Deployment Platform Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of package management, networking configuration, log files, and environment variables.
  3. Containerization: Experience with Kubernetes and Docker to manage containerized applications.
  4. Data Visualization: Knowledge of Grafana to create custom dashboards and reports.
  5. Databases: Experience with databases, especially Elasticsearch, Couchbase, and MySQL, to manage and query data.
  6. Nice to Have: GCP, Azure, AWS, and Terraform experience is a plus for cloud-based deployments.
