Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). As the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project, our responsibilities include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate provides project supplier quality supervision support on the Poland AP1000 Project, located in Warsaw, Poland. This includes capability surveys, audits and area or shop quality surveillance in accordance with Bechtel Supplier Quality & Expediting Inc. (BSQE) and Project Procedures.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Leads in quality audit activities covered by corporate/project quality program/plan including pre-award assessments of potential suppliers and subcontractors as a prospective lead auditor or a qualified lead auditor.
  • Assesses and monitors project engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations, decommissioning and other activities related to the quality program/plan.
  • Reviews and monitors nonconforming conditions and associated corrective actions to ensure quality program effectiveness.
  • Reviews and determines applicable quality requirements for inclusion in selected engineering, procurement, and construction documents.
  • Reviews and reports on project associated quality-related procedures and manuals for conformance to project quality program/plan requirements.
  • Prepares and reviews quality procedures and plans for issuance in accordance with approved processes.
  • Reviews and determines the sufficiency of corporate/project quality control inspection plans.
  • Leads the implementation of the project quality program/plan such as People Based Quality (PBQ), Lessons Learned, Close Loop Corrective Actions and Continuous Improvement.
  • Works with and/or leads cause analysis in conjunction with other project or staff personnel to develop corrective action plans which assist in the resolution of complex issues.
  • Reviews and reports on new or revised regulatory requirements and their impact on the established quality program.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, from a reputed University. Minimum 12 years of relevant industry experience in inspection and testing activities.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
Additional Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 4,000 hours of in-shop quality surveillance or related work.
  • Minimum 12+ Years of Relevant Work Experience
  • Prior experience as PSQS/PSQR on Pre-FEED / FEED / EPC projects, recognized codes and standards, manufacturing methods
  • Prior experience in leadership roles, experience in writing technical procedures and problem solving
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience with major commodities typically procured for nuclear projects, recognized codes and standards, manufacturing methods.
  • Performs project Supplier Quality functions having some degree of complexity, e.g., preparation of detailed inspection plans for use on complete or uniquely designed systems; preparation of full scope man-hour and budget estimates for proposed intermediate-sized projects; review of complex technical specifications; or the establishment of project corrective action(s) to resolve nonconformances that have a significant impact on project cost/schedule.
  • Provides guidance to other PSQRs and Area Supplier Quality Specialists and non-technical support staff as assigned.
  • Assists and/or monitors activities of assigned Area Supplier Quality Specialists.
  • Requisite certification as an ANSI/ASME Level II (further to Level I competencies) and performs the following:
    • Conducts capability surveys of a prospective supplier
    • Participates as an audit team member or technical resource for nuclear material and/or quality program audits
    • Monitors the administrative and technical performance of Third Party Agency quality surveillance contractor personnel to assure that Corporate Supplier Quality Manual and Procedures and quality surveillance assignment instructions are implemented
