Key Responsibilities:



  2. Manage the overall NAV calculation process within guidelines and procedures provided by HedgeServ.
  3. Assist in developing client relationships and require a detailed understanding of service requirements for Hedge Fund Administration.
  4. Work as part of a team to develop all aspects of HedgeServ services.
  5. Provide strategic direction for assigned fund accounting teams.
  6. Manage client relationships involving interaction with both the client and relevant Vice President to ensure consistency of service.
  7. Ensure assigned fund accounting team operates within clearly defined and documented control environment.
  8. Manage and develop client teams of up to 20 employees.
  9. Resolve fund accounting enquiries escalated by the Fund Accounting Manager.
  10. Review daily and monthly NAV calculations.
  11. Develop and improve NAV calculation workflows and procedures.
  12. Review all aspects of the NAV process including fee calculations, profit and loss allocations, accounting for complex financial instruments, documentation review, and ad hoc client requests.
  13. Manage the audit process ensuring timely and successful completion of fund audits including preparation of fund financial statements.
  14. Investigate accounting implications of new products.
  15. Manage and complete client initialization and transition.
  16. Participate in development and presentation of fund accounting training.
  17. Responsible for fund accounting employee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  18. Resolve exceptional problems and take on special projects or tasks as assigned.
  19. Handle complex calls from clients.
  20. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with various departments within HedgeServ.

Requirements:



  2. Completed bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance.
  3. 9 years' experience working in a Hedge Fund Administration Firm with at least 3 years at Manager level. Alternative fund experience may be considered.
  4. Intention to pursue a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA), if not already started, part qualified, or qualified, would be an advantage but is not required.
  5. IT literate.
  6. Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Strong systems, product, and process knowledge.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Ability to be flexible and work effectively both within a team structure or independently.
  10. Strong interpersonal skills.
  11. Good initiative coupled with the ability to identify when escalation is required.
  12. Reliable, flexible, and dependable.
  13. Ability to positively influence team morale.
  14. Demonstrate leadership skills.
  15. Take ownership of designated tasks.
