R2R Senior Associate in Finance

Global job purpose

In-house business consulting in the area of Management Accounting for Bayer key divisions covering 2 streams:

  1. Cost accounting – ensure appropriate recording and allocations of actual business expenses in accordance with the group reporting standards and the company data model
  2. Production Accounting & Inventory Valuation – monitor production cost and assure proper inventory valuation

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Cost accounting:

  1. Monitors data quality, identifying correction requirements and performing adjustments
  2. Supports assigned LEs closing process - review the closing results and follow up with divisions and functions
  3. Cooperates with business (Controlling, Sales & Marketing, Production)
  4. Coordinates and supports the annual budget process

Production Accounting & Inventory Valuation:

  1. Monitors and analyzes product unit cost at a material level and explain deviations
  2. Supports the annual process of developing product standard cost
  3. Supports business (Controlling, Production etc.) for clarification of changes needed for variances of production/process orders and purchase prices
  4. Supports analysis of the Income Statement in the area of responsibility

Who You Are

  1. University degree in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or equivalent.
  2. At least 2 years professional experience in Controlling, Product Costing, Financial Analysis, General Ledger, Asset Management etc.; experience from production company would be an advantage.
  3. Basic understanding of cost accounting/managerial accounting rules and their connection with other business processes.
  4. Basic understanding of accounting period-end closing
  5. Analytical skills – ability to prepare basic financial information.
  6. Action-oriented way of working with an eye for details.
  7. First experience in partnering with Business stakeholders (presentation of data, discussion of complex business cases, supporting decision making).
  8. Ability to effectively collaborate in matrix organization
  9. Support decision making within the scope of responsibility (legal entity, country, or country group).
  10. Experience with SAP (FI, CO).
  11. Fluent English, both spoken and written.
  12. Digital skills: Excel intermediate, entry knowledge of Power BI or relevant tools for analytics and visualization (view, filter and drill down reports and visuals).
  13. Knowledge of German or other European languages would be an asset.
