We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Linux Administrator with specialized expertise in Pacemaker clustering and multi-cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in managing and optimizing Linux-based infrastructures, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across both physical and virtual environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain SUSE and Red Hat Linux servers, including IBM, Fujitsu, and HP HANA appliance servers.
  • Build and reimage SUSE Linux servers in both physical and virtual environments.
  • Manage Linux virtual machines configured in ESX environments.
  • Provide Level 3 support to customers, addressing complex technical issues related to Linux servers and applications.
  • Perform patching and OS upgrades on SUSE and Red Hat servers.
  • Ensure round-the-clock availability of SAP systems operating within SAP ECS.
  • Respond promptly to, troubleshoot, and resolve alerts and incidents occurring within the Linux OS or infrastructure layers, including Azure environments.
  • Implement and manage high availability solutions using clustering technologies, particularly Pacemaker.
  • Develop and maintain scripts (Shell, Perl, Python, Go, etc.) for automation and configuration tasks.
  • Optimize system performance through tuning and proactive monitoring.
  • Apply knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DHCP, IP Routing, and Name Resolution.
  • Implement OS security measures, backup and recovery strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding and knowledge of public clouds like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Utilize configuration management systems such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible for system automation.
  • Adhere to incident handling and change management processes.
  • Serve as the elevated L3/L4 escalation contact for critical production issues.
  • Participate in on-call duties and weekend tasks as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of professional experience in Linux system administration, with a focus on SUSE and Red Hat servers.
  • Extensive experience in managing IBM, Fujitsu, and HP HANA appliance servers.
  • Proficiency in building and reimaging SUSE Linux servers in both physical and virtual environments.
  • Experience with managing Linux virtual machines in ESX environments.
  • Strong expertise in implementing and managing high availability clustering solutions, especially Pacemaker.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts like TCP/IP, DHCP, IP Routing, and Name Resolution.
  • Experience with OS security, backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, LDAP, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Deep understanding of public clouds such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of configuration management systems like Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to participate in on-call duties and weekend tasks.
  • Process knowledge of incident handling and change management.
  • Proven track record in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Perl, Python, Go) and adeptness with server automation tools like Ansible or Chef.
  • Experience in managing multi-cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and proactive system health checks.
  • Strong comprehension of IT security practices, particularly in OS hardening techniques.
  • Experience in implementing automation solutions to streamline platform operations, enhancing efficiency and reliability.
