Alarm Technician

Description of duties and components of job:

1. Communicate effectively with our customers, and manage their expectations;
2. Install low voltage cable for security cameras, card access systems, and alarm systems;
3. Mount and focus IP cameras;
4. Mount and terminate alarm panels;
5. Mount network racks and wall enclosures;
6. Arrive on time, and ready to work;
7. Keep a professional appearance and work space and within company vehicles;
8. Run/Fish low voltage cabling in residential and commercial settings;
9. Complete clean and organized cable management and industry standard termination practices;
10. Service and complete maintenance on residential & commercial alarm systems, access control systems, and camera systems;
11. Install new alarm system, access control systems, and camera hardware;
12. Programming and setup of alarm systems, access control systems, and camera systems.

Requirements:

1. Experience with basic hand tools, demonstrating your practical skills and precision.
2. A valid Ontario "G" Driver's License, with an impeccable Driver's Abstract.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Highly organized and attentive to detail.
5. Strong computer skills.
6. Basic experience running cable, installing & servicing field devices, programming.
7. Able to read and understand manuals for installations and/or troubleshooting.

Technologist Certificate or Computer Networking Courses preferred.
