Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to join the banking project program team. The mission is oriented on technical architecture, products and services definition and patterns implementation, following a hybrid multi-Cloud strategy based on a Private internal Cloud offer and different Cloud type offers by IBM.

As a Cloud Architect, you will work with development and production teams in the transformation and migration of applications into different Cloud platforms in accordance with the global strategy and ambition. You will understand the possibilities of the products and services catalogue and advise on the benefits, design applications architecture and patterns implementation, and help the teams with problems encountered while transforming – migrating into the Cloud.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Define Cloud reference architectures.
  2. Contribute to the construction of Move-to-Cloud scenarios.
  3. Contribute to the definition of requirements in terms of Cloud products and services and liaise with Cloud platforms product owners for their integration in the delivery plan.
  4. Define Cloud patterns implementation scenarios: DevSecOps, Micro-segmentation, zero-touch-provisioning and deployment, auto-healing, auto-scaling, Infrastructure-as-a-Code.
  5. Assist development and production teams on the applications architecture design and transformation plan, succeeding on the integration of different cloud patterns.

Our Requirements

  1. Minimum 5 years experience on Cloud transformation, Cloud migration projects.

Methods for Cloud:

  1. Master prescriptive practices needed to define, design, develop, deliver, and manage cloud applications.
  2. Understand the importance of software patterns and be familiar with common pattern forms.
  3. Understand Domain Driven Design and how it relates to Reactive Architecture.

Move to Cloud:

  1. Master what application modernization is, the common benefits and challenges.
  2. Understand Cloud migration strategies and their main impacts.

Architecture for Resiliency:

  1. Understand resiliency practices and learn how to build a resilient architecture on the Cloud.
  2. Understand development, monitoring and operations techniques to implement a high availability architecture.

Architecture for Cloud Security:

  1. Understand the security components needed to secure cloud development, deployment and operations in a secure and sustainable Cloud.
  2. Secure by design architecture.
  3. Micro-segmentation, flows management with Illumio.

Cloud Logging and Monitoring:

  1. Know how to centralize logs from all servers, applications and systems.
  2. Know how cloud monitoring solutions provide the visibility, automation, and control organizations need to monitor and optimize the performance of websites, applications, and services.
  3. Sysdig Monitor.
  4. Understand the Applicative Logging and Monitoring Offering Guide.

Technologies for Cloud:

  1. Containers and Cloud Kubernetes, create the 'm'toolchain and continuously deliver an app to a Kubernetes cluster using Helm Chart.
  2. Object Storage Concepts and Architecture, build a web gallery app in the Cloud.
  3. Infrastructure-as-code: how to automate Kubernetes Infrastructure.
  4. PostgreSQL, Cloud Databases for PostgreSQL, PostgreSQL as a Service.
  5. Event Streams - Apache Kafka for the Enterprise.
  6. Istio, service-mesh technology.

FinOps:

  1. Understand FINOPS concepts.
  2. Understand billing and Cloud usage.
