Job Description

The Data Modeler will be part of the Data Architecture team within IT Strategy & Architecture. They will work on a strategic initiative called the Data Access Framework that provides a Data Catalog and shopping experience to support a large number of data scientists and analysts.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Create data models reflecting different business, operational, and IT data types used to support critical processes.
  2. Familiarize yourself with our Enterprise Data Toolkit components, including Collibra, a data catalog, and various data modeling tools.
  3. Work with users of the Data Access Framework to create data models facilitating data discovery, acquisition, and analysis.
  4. Onboard users onto the platform.
  5. Understand data within specific applications or domains through collaboration with business and IT users.
  6. Develop logical data models aligning with end-user requirements and link them to physical implementations.
  7. Produce models using tools like Collibra, Enterprise Architect, Power Designer, or TopBraid.
  8. Establish a centralized modeling repository and ensure its use can be integrated into IT teams.
  9. Evolving the Data Catalog and Data Access Framework to broaden available data sources.
Our Requirements
  1. Excellent data modeling skills in products such as Enterprise Architect Sparx, Power Designer, Erwin, or ontology tools like Top Braid.
  2. Experience creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  3. Knowledge of traditional Entity-Relationship models and Knowledge Graphs.
  4. Strong communication and analytical skills to translate user requirements into suitable data models.
  5. Ability to work effectively in a small team, partnering with others, with a client-focused mentality.
  6. Capacity to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
  7. Organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  8. Multitasking and managing multiple project demands.
  9. Detailed understanding of database technologies, primarily SQL environments like Oracle, Sybase, Hive/Impala.
  10. Working knowledge and experience of Agile delivery methods.
  11. Broad Financial Services background, with an understanding of diverse data requirements for operating in various front-to-back business areas.
  12. Minimum 3 years of data modeling experience.
  13. Technical analysis expertise.
