Rate: €40-€70 per hour, depending on experience
The Opportunity
We're working with a leading international organisation seeking an experienced Quantexa Data Engineer to join a growing data engineering team on a long-term contract.
This is an opportunity to work on complex, enterprise-scale data solutions, leveraging Quantexa's Decision Intelligence platform to help transform large volumes of data into actionable insights.
You'll play a key role in designing, developing and optimising scalable data applications, taking ownership of technically challenging projects while collaborating with engineering teams and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data engineering applications using Quantexa technologies.
- Lead the technical delivery of complex software components, ensuring performance, reliability and maintainability.
- Work with large, complex datasets to support data processing, integration and analytics.
- Investigate and resolve challenging technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
- Produce detailed technical documentation covering architecture, development and implementation.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture and business teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve development workflows, testing processes and overall platform performance.
Technical Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Quantexa and its Decision Intelligence platform.
- Solid data engineering and software development background.
- Strong knowledge of Scala and Apache Spark.
- Experience building and optimising large-scale data processing pipelines.
- Understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT processes and distributed computing.
- Experience with SQL and complex data transformations.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and version control.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging and performance optimisation skills.
- Ability to take technical ownership and collaborate across distributed engineering teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with entity resolution, network analytics or graph-based data processing.
- Background working with financial services, banking or regulated enterprise environments.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes or infrastructure automation.
- Previous experience mentoring engineers or leading technical delivery.
