Job Description:
Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Senior Technical Designer to join the development of a new IP.
Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly-skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining.
As a member of the Technical Design department, you'll cover creation of a variety of systems and you will also be responsible for working on prototype missions, supporting gameplay and art teams from early conception to final execution.
Also, you'll contribute to take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, integrity, and collaboration.
You'll help us by…
- Partnering with the Gameplay Director and Content Director to set the overall vision and direction for gameplay and content designs.
- Taking ownership of creating technical design rules and principles for the whole game.
- Working together with other teams on technical solutions, pipelines and tools supporting gameplay and content design implementation.
- Taking ownership of technical design in a gameplay prototype – from ideation to final quality implementation.
- Supporting hires, training and mentoring of technical designers.
- Analyzing, pitching, prototyping, and developing technical design features, systems and tools for an unannounced AAA project.
- Creating one-page pitches, tools & pipelines briefs, system outlines, and whatever other communication tools are vital for succinctly and effectively communicating technical design.
- Leveraging technical expertise to implement systems in proprietary tools.
- Collaborating with multiple fields, ensuring partners are involved and informed throughout development.
- Providing regular active feedback across all of your features, and across the game as a whole.
- Remaining current on industry trends including new game genres, new game design techniques, and trending audio-visual excellence.

- Proven experience (6+ years) shipping AAA titles in lead technical design roles.
- Proven experience driving technical design teams and technical pipelines.
- Ability to communicate design vision and to align vision within the team.
- Experience with versatile game development tools such as Unity, Unreal, or similar proprietary tools.
- Extensive player experience with games.
- Extraordinary self-motivation and initiative, and a positive demeanor in the face of challenges.

- Enjoyment of playing a variety of video game genres and titles.
- High understanding of complex math.
- Experience in developing multiplayer games and understanding the functioning of client-server architecture.
- High understanding of complex performance issues behind game content implementation.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role's range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
