The Senior Accountant position has overall responsibility for the financial operations in the entities which operate within the UK.

Reporting to the UK Controller, the role requires a qualified accounting individual with experience in month-end closing, variance analysis, and Balance Sheet reconciliation, along with a keen eye for detail, a strong analytical mindset, and a focus on quality and efficiency.

The role is based in Warsaw, Poland, and will require limited travel.

What You'll Do
  1. Financial accounting and monthly & quarterly reporting for UK, including but not limited to:
  2. Preparation of monthly Balance sheet reconciliations.
  3. Investigation and resolution of balance sheet differences.
  4. Preparing monthly journals, attaching support, and submitting for review.
  5. Preparing and calculating accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other monthly & quarterly entries.
  6. Ensuring monthly Inter Company differences are investigated and resolved.
  7. Preparing monthly Trial Balance for review and adding commentaries for variances.
  8. Preparing quarterly flux commentary for review.
  9. Preparing quarterly audit disclosures for review.
  10. Monthly upload of UK entity reporting into Cognos.
  11. Assisting and providing support for Internal/External Group and Statutory audit requirements.
  12. Ad hoc Corporate requests for information/support/accounting journals.
  13. Participate in annual accounting, tax audits, and special projects.
  14. Training and mentoring other accountants based in Poland.
  15. Supporting finance managers with technical queries and ensuring adherence to reporting timelines.
  16. Ad hoc project requests from the UK controller.
What You'll Bring

The successful candidate will be a 'hands-on' and "can-do" qualified accountant with strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

Qualified accountant with experience working in a commercial environment in an international business with prior exposure to monthly/quarterly accounting and group reporting. You will have operated at a similar level in an international environment with a demonstrated track record of delivering successful monthly and quarterly reporting.

Qualifications: Educated to degree level and Qualified Accountant.

Minimum 4 years of experience as an Accountant.

Experience working in a similar capacity at a global organization.

Strong financial background and good spoken and written English.

Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment.

Good knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel applications.

Results-driven with the enthusiasm to drive improvement initiatives.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Versatile, inquisitive, and robust candidate with the ability to work effectively on their own and in a team environment.

All other related and/or additional responsibilities that may be required or assigned.
