Project Designer - Reciprocating CompressorsAbout the Role

You will lead technical design for rotating machinery projects, supporting a multi-disciplinary engineering team from sales handover through project execution.

A Snapshot of Your Day
  • Design rotating reciprocating compressors packages based on customer and engineering requirements.
  • Design mechanical systems including structural base frames, instrumentation, and piping systems.
  • Create 3D models of packages incorporating internal and supplier designs.
  • Produce general arrangement drawings based on customer requirements.
  • Develop assembly and sub-assembly drawings and related bills of material.
  • Produce fabrication and weldment drawings and related bills of material.
  • Maintain high engineering and drafting standards during design and manufacture.
  • Provide design guidance to engineers based on industry/technical knowledge.
  • Ensure drawings align with industry, departmental, and field standards.
  • Familiarity with Geometrical Dimensioning and tolerance as per ASME Y standard.
  • Support production operations by resolving drawing issues.
  • Prevent future design errors through design review and correction of project non-conformances.
  • Closely coordinate with functional departments and suppliers to meet technical requirements and execute orders timely.
  • Take corrective actions, preventive actions, and develop systems/procedures for continual improvement of current designing and drafting practices.
What You Bring
  • 2 years of proven CAD/design experience. Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for work experience.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD and 2D CAD systems with proven experience required.
  • Experience with design in NX is preferred.
  • Excellent digital literacy (Microsoft Office, Excel).
  • Experience with design in COMOS or an advantage.
  • Experience with SAP Spherion and/or Atlas is preferred (an advantage).
  • Proficient in English language.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with distributed teams.
