Application Specialist Intern

TalentBank is an original internship program of the Digital Technology Centre in Poland, which aim is to enable students and graduates to gain professional experience in IT / banking industry. The project can be attended by people who are students or graduates (up to 12 months after graduation). We look for students after second year of technical, mathematical, business, finance, economic or related studies.

Join our team as an Application Specialist Intern

You are responsible for understanding applications, data flows and their business purpose to integrate new modules, changes, or releases and responsible for the whole operations. You support various installation instances (integration/acceptance and production environment). Team and your main task are to ensure processing and transport of deployment packages from development to production environments and to maintain stable operation of production. You handle incidents, problems, and changes. You communicate with developers, as well as other operation teams.

• Optimize operation in production.
• Implement changes in accordance with requirements.
• Ensure the Service Level Agreements (SLA) are adhered to.
• You have knowledge of implementation methods, as the software then needs to be tested functional which must be organized with the test-team. The organization of the final implementation into the productive environment completes the process.
• You will serve as contact person for all upcoming questions regarding the vendor’s software itself, the interfaces to other platforms, Compliance / audit issues, user administration. If not solved by yourself, you will know the corresponding contacts within the bank to follow up such queries.

What you will be doing?

• You act as a broker between the user’s side (collect, evaluate and analyze requests for error corrections and enhancements), and the payment’s software.
• Controlling and monitoring application.
• Implementation of change request in the production process via CI/CD-Pipeline.
• Assurance of interrupted availability of the systems and applications.
• Manual intervention in automatic processes in conjunction with the product managers or on request.
• Handling of changes/incidents/problems with ticketing systems.
• Conceptional tasks around technical solutions, data- and business-/process models.
• Support the rollouts in production.
• Preparation of ad-hoc reports.

Which technology & skills are important for us?

• Basic knowledge of UNIX/LINUX
• Basic knowledge of MQ / iFG
• Basic knowledge of SQL

• Basic knowledge of CI/CD
• Experience in managing Java applications
• Basic knowledge of JIRA / Confluence
• Basic knowledge of Agile / Scrum
