As a Senior Project Logistics Manager for Ground Freight, you will be responsible for leading the Project Logistics Team with objective setting and performance management to be successful in Ground Freight Project Logistics. Working closely with Regional Branch Operations, Regional Sales across all Sales Channels and Regional Finance teams, you will continue growing our Project Logistics business in the EMEA Region.

You will be responsible for:

  • Increasing GP line contribution from Ground Freight Project Logistics Product through heavy haulage business throughout Europe.
  • Increasing Global GP achieved from Project Logistics.
  • Being a subject-matter expert in Ground Freight Project Logistics and Support Sales Team on project logistics solution design for customers.
  • Coaching Ground Freight Project Logistics Team in the EMEA region to improve individual technical capability.
  • Supporting Line Manager to prepare budget for Ground Freight Project Logistics once a year during budgeting season.
  • Working with Branch Managers, Vertical Heads and the wider Sales team to grow our Project Logistics Product in the EMEA Region.
  • Sourcing logistics solutions for ground freight project logistics RFQ's received from OIA existing and targeted customers, network agents and OIA sister offices.
  • Cultivating a culture of safety at work through compliance and process ownership when handling project cargo.
  • Seek, Bid and Win new ground freight opportunities in project logistics throughout the European Region consisting of over-sized and heavy lift shipments both to project sites and manufacturing sites.
  • Develop and sustain relationship with new & existing vendors by sourcing, initiating, and attending regular meetings with trucking companies throughout Europe.
  • Attend customer visits as required by the Sales Team to maintain and develop relationship with designated accounts through technical ability.
  • Supervise operational activities relating to Special Projects and/or other customer bookings/orders to ensure all requirements are fulfilled.
  • Performing negotiation on BIDs & Project inquiries with vendors, customers, and agents involving ground freight project logistics.
  • Ensuring project operations are being executed in accordance with the company processes and procedures as set by the Company.
  • Coaching, developing and motivating your team, ensuring they have the knowledge to complete their duties.
  • Supporting Manager with team management responsibilities such as setting objectives and reviewing performance.
  • Leading colleagues to create a positive working environment.

What we need from you:

  • Extensive technical expertise/experience on heavy haulage project cargo (quoting, planning and execution).
  • Excellent and proactive communication & negotiation skills [with related project cargo forwarding experience] with management of diverse work groups and financial acumen.

  • Eligibility to work in the country in which you are employed is essential.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
