Occupational Therapist

Hammersmith and Fulham are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.

Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes:

1. Assessment of service users and carers with complex needs in relation to home environment.
2. Working alongside the Team Manager.
3. Visits to residents' homes to ensure collaboration with partner agencies.
4. Provide an initial assessment of service users with complex care and therapy needs across the teams.
5. Support service users to set client-centred goals to promote independence and wellbeing in the home environment.
6. Facilitate service user choice and empowerment through promoting independence, timely provision of information, advice and support using evidence-based interventions.
7. Awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, plus understanding the importance of dignity & respect when dealing with people.
8. Understand and demonstrate the council's values and behaviours, working collaboratively with colleagues, attending meetings, and proactively contributing and problem-solving.

To Be Successful:

1. Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
2. Experienced Adult Social Care OT required with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
3. Community OT post, with experience in assisting and moving, major and minor adaptations.
4. Community-based with provision of equipment to support home working.
5. Experienced OT with experience in assessing and providing major adaptations such as ramps and stairlifts and manual handling equipment.
6. Previous experience working with major adaptations.
7. Manual handling experience.
8. HCPC Registration.
9. Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
10. Eligibility to work in the UK.
11. Occupational Therapist Qualification.
