Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced DevOps Manager to lead our DevOps team in driving the automation, deployment, and operation of scalable and efficient systems. This individual will oversee the integration of development and operations teams, promote best practices in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and ensure our systems and processes are optimized for high performance and reliability. The DevOps Manager will play a key role in supporting our cloud-based infrastructure and ensuring that our systems are aligned with business goals and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance, support, and career development.
  • Establish clear goals, objectives, and key results (OKRs) for the DevOps team.
  • Foster a collaborative environment between development, operations, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members as needed.

Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD):

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enable fast and reliable application deployments.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure proper code integration, testing, and release strategies.
  • Implement automated testing frameworks to ensure quality at every stage of the pipeline.
  • Drive continuous improvement in CI/CD processes and practices.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and optimization of infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Promote the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and security.
  • Manage infrastructure in AWS and on-premise environments as necessary.
  • Monitor and ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of applications and systems in cloud environments.
  • Ensure cost optimization strategies for cloud infrastructure are implemented and maintained.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging tools to ensure visibility into production systems.

Automation & Process Improvement:

  • Drive automation efforts to improve efficiency and eliminate manual tasks.
  • Improve workflows and processes to accelerate delivery timelines and enhance product quality.
  • Implement and manage disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup solutions.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  • Work closely with engineering, security, and product teams to align DevOps initiatives with business and technical requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and agile ceremonies to improve team productivity.
  • Act as a liaison between development and operations to bridge any communication or workflow gaps.

Qualifications Needed:

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or SRE
  • At least 2-3 years in a management or leadership position within a DevOps or technical operations team.
  • Experience with AWS in Production.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog).
  • Experience in Python or Golang.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Deep understanding of automation, cloud architecture, and systems design.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex, distributed environments.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and best practices.

Preferred Qualities:

  • Familiarity with security practices related to DevOps (e.g., DevSecOps).
  • Experience with performance tuning and scaling in cloud-native environments.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).
  • Experience with serverless architectures and microservices.
