We have partnered with a Big 4 audited international business, headquartered in the UK, to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team in Wroclaw. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in accounting to make a real impact in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

The role will report directly into the Finance and Operations Director, with a dotted line to the Chief Accountant – Poland.

Location: Wroclaw – 5 days onsite

This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to join a dynamic and growing organization. As the Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in driving the financial success of the business, ensuring robust financial controls, and supporting the Finance and Operations Director in achieving revenue growth and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure general ledger and financial statements are complete and accurate.
  2. Oversee payables, receivables, and invoicing functions to ensure they are complete, accurate, and fully reconciled.
  3. Establish and maintain a robust billing and collection process to effectively manage debts.
  4. Implement strong controls around credit collections and proactively liaise with clients to ensure timely debt collection.
  5. Develop a robust system of control for the purchase of goods and services and ensure the business is getting the best value for money from suppliers.
  6. Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure proper treatment of acquisitions and disposals.
  7. Perform general ledger reconciliations, including deferred income, cash, and relevant balance sheet accounts.
  8. Design, maintain, and enforce a robust internal control system and compliance environment, with documented policies and procedures.
  9. Optimize local cash management and liaise with banks, auditors, legal, and tax providers as necessary.
  10. Collaborate with HR on people-related processes such as payroll, performance evaluations, and annual salary increments.
  11. Ensure finance system users are trained and using the systems correctly and to their full potential.
  12. Ensure timely reporting of all monthly and annual financial information, including KPI reporting, budget variance reports, and capital project expenditure monitoring.
  13. Establish processes to ensure accurate data collection and review of monthly KPI data.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Several years of accounting and finance operational experience in a commercial environment.
  2. Strong technical accounting skills, including a good knowledge of IFRS.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at senior levels and influence key stakeholders.
  4. Flexibility, multi-tasking mindset, and an ability to deal with shifting priorities.
  5. Advanced Excel skills.
  6. Demonstrable understanding of working with information systems and implementing ERPs.
  7. Fluent in written and spoken Polish and English.
  8. Self-starter who uses initiative, can manage a varied workload, is deadline-driven, and has the commitment to see change processes through from start to finish.
