About the MFL Department and Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Teacher of French and Spanish to join our dynamic Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department. Languages are taught from Year 2 to Year 13. The curriculum in Years 2 to 9 is our own. In Years 10 and 11 we offer CAIE curriculum IGCSEs in French, Spanish and German. For years 12 and 13 we offer these languages at ab initio and IBDP B levels, depending on interest.

This year, the MFL department are working on embedding the IB learner attributes into teaching and learning, specifically following the NAE metacognition project. They are also in the process of a transfer to the use of digital tools to support learning and are working on the promotion of languages through academic trips and cultural celebrations.

About You

You are a forward-thinking educator who sets ambitious targets for students and fosters a love for learning. Enthusiastic about embracing new pedagogical methods, you are collaborative, reflective, and committed to professional growth. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for Poland.

  1. An honours degree in a relevant subject area.
  2. UK QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification).
  3. Proven experience teaching in an English-speaking school environment.

  2. A high level of personal integrity and professionalism.
  3. Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire students.
  4. A high level of proficiency in using technology for teaching and administration.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for KS3, IGCSE, and IBDP students.
  2. Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment that encourages personal and academic growth.
  3. Collaborate on curriculum development, assessment design, and departmental initiatives.
  4. Integrate Nord Anglia's unique resources and global partnerships into your teaching.
  5. Actively participate in school life, including the LEAP co-curricular program, events, and supervision duties.
  6. Maintain open communication with parents and contribute to academic reviews.
  7. Engage in professional development and model lifelong learning.
  8. Carry out the role of a Form Tutor to support students in their personal and academic growth.
  9. Fulfil active supervision and lesson cover duties as required.
