Zendesk's Service Catalog is a foundational component of our core platform, enabling organizations to define, manage, and optimize structured service offerings for IT, HR, and internal operations. We are developing an enterprise-grade, extensible service catalog framework that integrates with approval workflows, automation, and fulfillment systems to provide a seamless service request experience.

We are looking for a Software Engineer with a frontend or full-stack skillset to join our team. This role is focused on developing intuitive, highly performant user interfaces for catalog-driven service requests, hierarchical service browsing, and self-service automation capabilities. What You'll Do

Develop and Deliver Exceptional Front-End Experiences

  1. Work closely with Designers and Product Managers to create engaging, user-friendly experiences for service catalog admins.
  2. Implement responsive and accessible UI components, ensuring a seamless experience across different devices and screen sizes.
  3. Optimize front-end performance, load times, and API interactions to provide a fast, efficient user experience.
  4. Contribute to the evolution of Zendesk's front-end architecture, improving maintainability, modularity, and developer experience.

Collaborate and Grow as an Engineer

  1. Work with backend engineers to integrate GraphQL and REST APIs, ensuring smooth data flow and efficient state management.
  2. Participate in code reviews, sharing constructive feedback and learning from teammates.
  3. Contribute to technical discussions, system design reviews, and UI/UX improvement initiatives.
  4. Help maintain up-to-date and accurate front-end documentation.
  5. Participate in agile development processes, helping improve team efficiency and delivery speed.

Contribute to a High-Performing Engineering Culture

  1. Stay up to date with best practices in structured service catalog architectures.
  2. Advocate for clean, maintainable, and scalable front-end code.
  3. Gain exposure to real-world front-end challenges at an enterprise scale.
  4. Participate in on-call rotations after an initial training period, helping maintain the reliability of our front-end services.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  1. 2+ years of professional experience in software development, focusing on structured service catalog modeling or automation-driven workflows.
  2. Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with experience using React and Redux.
  3. Understanding of GraphQL and REST APIs, and how to efficiently consume data from backend services.
  4. Experience with modern front-end build tools such as Webpack, Babel, and Vite.
  5. Familiarity with component-based architecture and front-end state management patterns.
  6. Passion for building accessible, performant, and user-friendly applications.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience working on enterprise service catalog platforms, ITSM, or structured request management solutions.
  2. Familiarity with front-end testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or React Testing Library.
  3. Exposure to backend technologies such as Ruby on Rails (for full-stack candidates).
  4. Prior experience working with design systems and component libraries.
  5. Experience in HR Service Management (HRSM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), or Employee Service software is a plus.

The Poland annualized base salary range for this position is zł164,000.00-zł246,000.00. Please note that while the salary range represents the minimum and maximum base salary rate for this position, the actual compensation offered will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives that will be communicated during the offer stage.

Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
