As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and improving our platform. You will be part of a cross-functional, self-organized team, working on mission-critical services that demand high performance, compliance, security, and uptime.

Who are you?Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services.
  • Own the full software development lifecycle, from concept to production.
  • Ensure software quality through thorough code reviews, testing, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define and refine technical requirements.
  • Contribute to system architecture and play a key role in technology selection.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
  • Drive technical excellence and promote best practices across teams.
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies to enhance performance and scalability.
  • Guide architectural decisions to ensure long-term maintainability and system scalability.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to maintain platform reliability.
  • Document solutions and maintain internal knowledge bases to support effective knowledge sharing.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Proven expertise in Java or Scala, with deep knowledge of backend architectures, distributed systems, and scalable infrastructure.
  • Readiness to learn Java / Scala if no experience in this area.
  • Passion for learning and the ability to quickly adapt to new challenges.
  • Strong software design skills with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Hands-on experience with unit, integration, performance, and acceptance testing.
  • Strong background in object-oriented and functional programming.
  • Strong applied skills in Java, with experience in backend architectures and related frameworks.
  • Proficiency in HTTP, RESTful APIs, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at scale.
  • Background in distributed computing and cloud-based architectures.
  • Proven track record in building high-throughput, low-latency, and highly reliable systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink, Presto, Kafka).
  • Practical knowledge of high-availability relational and NoSQL databases.
