Your responsibilitiesDecisions:
  • Nomination of suppliers for direct materials during Program Development Phase needed for serial production and for its strategic families.
Main tasks:
  • Attend the Project meetings, when purchasing arguments are in agenda, collecting Project needs.
  • Perform all procurement & buying activities to achieve integral project objectives.
  • Define the supplier strategy of the project related family assigned to her/him.
  • Act as the interface between the Project Teams and the Purchasing team.
  • Prepare RFQ data for Lead Buyers to be able to let them run project related benchmarks and RFQs.
  • Responsible for purchasing materials to complete new product development program.
  • Negotiate with suppliers regarding best terms, delivery, quality specifications, and lowest overall cost and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Review drawing packages and obtain quotations from Approved Suppliers list for prototype and production materials.
  • Ensure all Project items are available, fully specified and quoted in Purchasing Portal.
  • Track RFQ's, pricing, and revision levels.
  • Global sourcing in accordance with OEM sourcing strategies.
  • Lead and manage competitive bids, negotiations and contracts.
  • Pass OEM requirements to suppliers.
  • Secure capacity at suppliers.
  • Best supplier selection within the supplier panel defined by lead buyers based on product requirements and production location.
  • Ensure supplier performance during the project phase.
  • Manage the Project procurement plan (budget & sourcing deadlines).
  • Purchase goods, materials, components or parts in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.
  • Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization.
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.
  • Manage change during development phase and during serial life for its purchasing families.
Required experience and skills:
  • Previous experience in purchasing in a global organization in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiator and proven project management skills dealing with complex projects.
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, target-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
  • Oral and written communication in English, German, French is a plus.
  • Technical understanding on Autoneum products.
  • Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Analytical, numerically astute with strong pragmatic problem solving abilities.
  • Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and achieve set targets.
  • Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Mobility in EU and outside (short missions).
  • Shows moral courage, openness and honesty in all dealings.
  • Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree preferred.
