This position is responsible for monitoring global data privacy regulations and assessing operational risks related to the collection, use, disclosure, and safeguards of data subjects' personally identifiable information. Identifies gaps in current business processes and recommends solutions, as well as reviews new business initiatives via privacy impact assessments for potential gaps with privacy laws and regulations. Tracks ongoing privacy initiatives, registrations, complaints, and inquiries, managing them through completion.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Research and monitor existing, new, and pending privacy laws, regulations, and best practices to provide gap analysis reporting impacting MoneyGram processes and procedures as it relates to data privacy.
  • Review systems, programs, and enterprise-wide processes, procedures, and practices that are planned or in place that have a data privacy component, with emphasis on the collection, processing, sharing, protection, and retention of personally identifiable information (PII).
  • Manage day-to-day intake of data privacy inquiries from across the enterprise, respond and escalate as needed to drive closure; e.g., marketing, global complaints, resolution assurance teams.
  • Manage recurring and special global privacy registrations, notifications, and updates with governing agencies.
  • Perform initial and periodic privacy impact assessments working closely with business units such as marketing, human resources, operations, information security, etc.
  • Conduct training and awareness efforts.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • BA/BS degree in related discipline, or completion of an accredited program associated with Data Privacy or Information Security plus equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6-9 years of directly related experience in a highly regulated environment associated with Data Privacy, Data Governance, Information Security.
  • Project Management highly desirable.
  • Global experience and/or second language proficiency (Spanish, Polish, French, German) a plus.

Essential Skills

  • Must be self-motivated and capable of performing most assignments with limited supervision.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to handle multiple and changing tasks simultaneously and effectively.
  • Demonstrated research and analytical skills – ability to find and evaluate information from internal and external sources.
  • Demonstrated understanding of MoneyGram's business practices, organizational structure, and general policies and procedures, preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and/or sensitive business information.
  • Experience working with global teams having different skillsets from Information Technology, Human Resources, Legal, Marketing, Operations, Sales, Agent On-boarding, etc.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
  • Able to learn new computer programs quickly; such as, Visio, consumer relationship management programs; e.g., CRM Dynamics, and document management systems.
