Lead Platform Engineer - Network EngineerOverview
The Network Engineering team is looking for a dynamic and experienced network professional to work on implementation, security, and support of large multi-site, robust multi-vendor network environments.
Role
- Manage and implement network projects across domains.
- Partner with design and platform teams, ensuring network designs are implemented according to requirements for upgrading existing corporate and datacenter networks, as well as re-architecting network segments to facilitate new requirements, technologies, and growth.
- Resolve network communications and operations problems impacting customer or backbone access and performance globally.
- Research and develop innovative solutions around unified network solutions.
- Support assigned regional projects, including responsibility for planning, time and cost control, resource utilization, and implementation.
- Lead a major work stream or multiple smaller work streams for a large network domain initiative, often providing technical guidance and advice to project team members.
- Engage with the broader technical community to anticipate developments in innovation, often evaluating new solutions and recommending future business network requirements.
All About You
Education
Accredited recognized education in computer science, math, or engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge / Experience:
10+ Years IT experience in the following areas:
- Networking, including LAN/WAN - Firewalls - Security and encryption technologies.
- Broad/Hands-on knowledge across leading network vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, Arista, and Checkpoint.
- Experience with Design - HLD/LLD is desirable.
- Broad knowledge of Project Management methodology and best practices.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with network technologies: BGP, DMVPN, VPN, Segment routing, ISIS, MP BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN, Spine/Leaf, ACI technologies.
- Experience with other datacenter network technologies is desirable.
- Skills and knowledge in network automation/scripting are desirable – Ansible/Python.
Skills/ Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Self-starter with demonstrated listening skills.
- Serve as a mentor to lower-level employees and lead others, exercising good judgment.
- Work with limited supervision; work may be reviewed for direction and strategy.
