The Accounts & Supplier Payable Assistant is a key member of the Finance team at Secret Escapes. In this broad and varied role, you will be an essential support to the wider business by ensuring travel supplier payments are made in a timely and accurate manner, helping suppliers understand their costs and supporting them with queries, managed on the Group’s email management system (Zendesk) and finance system (NetSuite).

The Role & What You'll Do

  • Conduct regular payment runsfor travel suppliers (hotels, flights, and other travel partners), utilising Virtual Credit Cards and Bank Transfers.
  • Oversee pre-funded airline partner accounts, including those paid by Direct Debit, ensuring necessary top-ups are processed efficiently.
  • Support the issuanceand subsequent management of self-serve Virtual Credit Cards.
  • Reconcile travel supplier paymentsand statements within NetSuite, ensuring accurate outstanding amounts are paid and internal records are well maintained.
  • Resolve supplier queriesvia Zendesk, investigating and resolving card payment issues and other payment-related disputes.
  • Support the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations for supplier creditors and Virtual Credit Card providers.
  • Develop and improve data, systems, and processesappropriate for the business to drive efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Treasury functionto support essential cash management processes.
  • Assist the teamwith year-end audit preparations to ensure a smooth reporting cycle.

You Will Bring

  • A solid understandingof accounting principles and processes.
  • Proven abilityto maintain accurate financial records, from initial calculations through to final ledger postings.
  • Excellent attention to detailand a commitment to accuracy.
  • Fluent Englishcommunication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Experiencewith payments processing (ideally across different countries/currencies), whilst experience with Virtual Credit Cards, NetSuite and Zendesk is beneficial but not required.
