Teacher of Maths - Waltham Forest

Position: Permanent Contract - MPS/UPS Inner London Pay

Start Date: Easter 2025

About the Role:

  1. Implement effective lessons that meet the National Curriculum and are suitable for students from 11 to 16 years of age.
  2. Keep up-to-date with any changes and developments to the national teaching curriculum.
  3. Adapt instructional materials and teaching methods to meet the learning needs of different students.
  4. Plan lesson plans that provide pupils with an opportunity to observe, question, and investigate as a balance of instruction, demonstration, and work time.
  5. Be creative and enthusiastic about using different teaching methods, including solo work, group work, whole-class work, demonstrations, and experiments.
  6. Oversee the work of the learning support staff and Teaching Assistants (TAs).
  7. Create a classroom environment where pupils work together to achieve their learning goals.
  8. Help and support individual pupils as required and encourage them to research topics themselves.
  9. Keep a register of pupils' attendance, set assignments and homework, mark pupils' work, record completion, write progress reports and carry out continuous assessment.

About the School:

The successful candidate must be able to teach Maths at Key Stages 3 - 4 and ideally Key Stage 5. The ideal Maths Teacher will be enthused about the curriculum and eager to develop new and improved methods of teaching topics to spark the students' interest. The Maths department enjoys sharing ideas and resources, requiring strong team players capable of working cooperatively.

Ideal Maths Teacher:

  1. Hold a Teachers Qualification
  2. Can teach engaging Maths lessons
  3. Has an enhanced DBS or is willing to get one
  4. Friendly and bubbly personality
  5. Can start Easter 2025
