HSE Manager

Job description:
HSE person in charge for HZI-Poland (Gliwice) and HZI-Steinmuller (Gummersbach)
Monitoring governmental regulations and codes in order to develop, maintain and distribute registers, statistics and reports of HSE legal and other requirements, ensuring site compliance with local HSE requirements
Maintaining HSE Management System, including local legal requirements, ISO 45001 and coordinating all functions to continually improve the system
Report to Senior Corporate HSE Manager BU SYS
Supporting maintenance requirements for the various HZI certifications ( ISO45001, ISO 14001, etc.)
Support HSE Management at HZI STM office Gummersbach
When requested take over HSE statistics with respective presentations and trend analysis
Providing regular training and information on occupational HSE to existing and new staff
Creation of emergency plans according to legal requirements and HZI guidelines also regarding medical needs
Organizing the medical examinations of Poland office, site construction and commissioning staff
Providing technical support to the persons responsible for HSE on the construction sites
Providing advices on suitable Personal Protective Equipment and keeping inventory when requested
Liaising with HZI corporate HSE Department to ensure HZI HSE minimum requirements as well as HSE best practices are implemented
Development and application of hazard identification and risk assessment to reduce the risks to ALARP. Lead/ participate in various studies
Conducting accident investigations including root causes analysis, relevant improvement action plan and lessons learned
Periodically perform site / project visits or inspections to ensure compliance with HSE requirements
Close cooperation with other departments, team members, colleagues, subcontractors and suppliers and, if necessary, with the customers
Identifying and promoting opportunities for HSE performance improvement

Job specific qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in OHS / Engineering (or equivalent)
Minimum 5 years’ experience of HSE management activities of Construction and Service/Maintenance projects
Experience in preparation, adaptation and implementation of HSE related deliverables, based on applicable regulatory requirements, such as HSE Management Plan, HSE Management Procedure, Potential Risk Register, HSE Risk Assessments, HSE Audit Plan/Procedure, etc.
Ability to research, analyze, interpret and implement HSE regulations, standards, and best practices
Experience in maintaining, updating and implementing a Health, Safety and Environmental Management System
Business fluent in written and spoken English and Polish, additional German knowledge B1 level
Willingness to travel in European Countries visiting Headquarters Gummersbach and Sites, minimum 50%
Good knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 is an added value
Experience in HSE erection and commissioning

Competence in working methods:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
Intercultural competence: ability to function and communicate effectively across cultures and on all levels of management and multinational staff, to think and act appropriately, and to develop the own intercultural and transcultural competencies
Proven problem-solving skills
Good presentation skills with ability to communicate in a convincing, comprehensive, tailored and audience-oriented manner by effective use of media and tools
Effective time management and organizational skills incl. very good prioritization abilities
Consistently ensuring high-level of occupational safety and health protection standards
