About the project A successful Database Architect will collaborate with software and application development teams to recommend database structures tailored to each department's data storage and retrieval needs. This role involves continuously monitoring our databases, promptly addressing issues, and providing management with reports that outline changing data needs and propose related solutions. Additional responsibilities include assisting developers with the design of tables, relationships, stored procedures, and triggers, and working independently to maintain efficient database operations, including proper backup and disaster recovery methods.

Your responsibilities Utilizing expertise in database architecture, development, support, and maintenance to plan and coordinate activities related to running production development/test/QA applications environments.
Developing and implementing solutions for database sizing/capacity, server requirements, and space requirements.
Designing, developing, implementing, and supporting physical database design structures that accommodate large transactions and high availability architecture.
Designing, developing, implementing, and testing enterprise backup and recovery solutions, including disaster recovery initiatives.
Applying significant experience with performance monitoring, database tuning, and identification and correction of performance bottlenecks to ensure peak performance. Creating and maintaining a knowledge base to improve maintenance and reliability.
Providing input to forecast the future of database/application administration, monitoring, and testing tools. Providing training to enhance the use and value of these tools.
Researching, planning, and performing database upgrades, application of bug fixes, and implementation of security policies as assigned.
Collaborating with the Networks and Systems groups to design platforms robust enough to support the database needs.
Working with the development team to implement change management for custom code migrated into environments.
Designing and developing processes/procedures for loading data, conversions, batch job operation, and troubleshooting development and production systems independently, in accordance with established guidelines.
Providing training and ongoing support for these processes/procedures and helping to build the knowledge of less senior DBAs.
Our requirements Minimum 8 years of experience in Information Technology, with at least 6 years as a DBA.
Experience in creating data models of databases and monitoring/tuning database performance.
Experience with NoSQL and open-source technologies such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
Experience with SQL HA/DR clusters, backup technologies, and data warehouses is preferred.
Proven track record in managing and tuning large volume SQL databases.
Experience in Windows server management is preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes/scenarios.
