At Xperi, we aim to disrupt the TV industry by introducing TiVo OS – a brand new, content-centric operating system for Smart TVs, based on the legendary American TiVo brand As a Staff Engineer in the Broadcast team, you will be part of a highly talented team working towards building a robust, secure and scalable platform. You will get an opportunity to work in a global environment and collaborate with other teams spread across Europe, America and Asia. What you will get to do: Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, portable and reliable C++ code (25M LOC; majority in C/C++, but Python and other languages are also there). Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions. Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization. Proactively seek assistance when required and actively contribute to team activities including design reviews, code reviews and mentoring. Read, understand, and implement technical specifications. Stay current about industry developments and Internet technologies. Who we are looking for: Must have: At least 5 years of professional experience. Experience in UNIX/Linux programming. Good C++ skills and solid understanding of object-oriented programming. Drive and commitment to working in a highly dynamic environment. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Eager to learn and work on embedded devices: TVs and STBs. Nice to have: Knowledge of Python or JavaScript is a plus. Knowledge of web and broadcasting standards. Experience in TV and STB integration projects – embedded Linux or Android. Experience in development and debugging of embedded systems.
