Role Objective To ensure that the implemented PostgreSQL platform is not only properly deployed and maintained, but also process-consistent, scalable, secure, and maximally valuable from a business perspective. The role combines aspects of an architect (governance, strategy, standards) and a technical expert (administration, optimization, tuning). Responsibilities Governance and Processes: Design of PostgreSQL platform governance. Development of operational processes for the administration team, including security, access control, and data masking. Preparation of the environment strategy (dev/test/pre-prod/prod) and standardization of the environment lifecycle. Standardization and parameterization of configurations (naming conventions, database parameters, Infrastructure as Code). Architecture and Platform Deployment: Support in building a greenfield PostgreSQL-based data platform. Implementation of technical measures: CI/CD, backup & restore, monitoring. Collaboration with application teams on integration with the multi-tier architecture. Hands-on Administration and Optimization: Administration, maintenance, and optimization of PostgreSQL systems. Design and troubleshooting of replication (logical & physical, including streaming replication). Ensuring availability, performance, and security of databases across all environments. Query tuning, indexing, schema management, and optimization strategies. Performance monitoring and analysis (Prometheus, Grafana, pg_stat_*). Management of backups, restoration, and security policies. Documentation of configurations, procedures, and system changes. Team and Competency Development: Support for the reskilling process of the administration team. Cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing. Requirements 10 years of experience in roles such as ETL Developer, Database Administrator, or Architect. Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL: architecture, administration, performance tuning, replication. Experience in greenfield data platform projects. Strong knowledge of Linux and its interaction with network and storage layers. Experience in capacity planning, performance management, parameterization & standardization. Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, pgAdmin, pgbouncer, etc.). Experience in implementing security policies and data masking technologies. experience with data masking technologies.
