ABOUT THE TEAM Join our Display Advertising team as a Backend Developer, where  you’ll play a central role in building the foundation for our advertising ecosystem across the Nordic marketplaces —including FINN.no, Blocket.se, Tori.fi, DBA.dk, Bilbasen.dk, Bytbil.se, and Oikotie.fi. This role contributes to the  development of backend systems and services that power advertising features across the Nordic marketplaces . The role requires experience  working with cloud-native infrastructure . As part of the Display Advertising team, the backend developer will work on scalable, high-performance systems that support advertising solutions. We value innovation and experimentation, with the expectation that all team members will actively participate in innovation and product decisions.   ABOUT THE ROLE Collaborate with cross-functional teams , including frontend developers, product managers, data engineers, and business developers, to define product requirements and set the technical direction of backend systems. Contribute to the development and execution of backend services that power display advertising , with a focus on scalability, performance, and integration. Develop backend features and services that meet business needs, focusing on scalability, data processing, and system integration. Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements. Make informed decisions to address technical debt, ensure data quality, and meet business needs while supporting the design of scalable, loosely-coupled backend systems. Participate in innovation and experimentation efforts , proposing new ideas and solutions for display advertising, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Collaborate in technical design meetings , contributing to discussions that drive alignment between technical and business goals. Mentor and support junior developers , promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. ABOUT YOU : Minimum 5 years of backend development experience. Experience mentoring and guiding fellow developers. Self-directed and proactive, able to balance the need for high-quality products with timely feature delivery. NICE TO HAVE: Experience in working with display advertising Proficiency in  Kubernetes, Google Cloud/GKE, Kotlin, Docker, and PostgreSQL. Experience  working in environments that use Node.js, Podium, or other micro-frontend frameworks is valued. Knowledge of cloud-native services, integration patterns (e.g., REST APIs, GraphQL), security practices (e.g., OAuth, data encryption), data handling, and OpenAPI/Swagger for backend integration. Values code quality, architecture, best practices , and is comfortable working with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions. A bility to contribute to both technical and product discussions , understanding business needs. Experience working in cross-functional teams, including product, UX, and business stakeholders.
