Customers from over 170 countries depend on the Client's mix of pre-built automation and integration to power personalized marketing, transactional emails, and one-to-one CRM interactions throughout the customer lifecycle. We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our client's MailOps team, a specialized group within the SRE organization. The team maintains and improves global mail infrastructure across three regions, supporting the delivery of billions of messages daily. Their mission is to ensure highly available, reliable, scalable, and cost-optimized email-sending functionality, providing customers with high-reputation shared IPs and maximum uptime. The team focuses on building and optimizing MTA infrastructure using PowerMTA and KumoMTA, ensuring 99.99% availability, security, and compliance. They provide APIs, infrastructure, and self-service tools to accelerate product development, optimize cost-to-serve for efficient scaling, and automate complex infrastructure tasks, enabling deliverability specialists and developers to work more effectively. This niche but critical team collaborates closely with infrastructure, security, and DevOps teams to enhance and scale the mail delivery platform. Stack: AWS, Terraform, Chef, GitLab, Grafana, SQL, Kubernetes, DNS responsibilities : Provision and manage mail infrastructure using AWS, Chef, Terraform, and other DevOps tools. Deploy and maintain services in Kubernetes, including PHP, Python, and Go applications that support mail operations. Optimize and scale the mail platform, contributing to autoscaling, provisioning, cost reduction, and resiliency improvements. Implement and adopt Kumo MTA as part of the mail infrastructure. Monitor outgoing email queues, addressing bottlenecks and delivery issues in real time. Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, ensuring timely email delivery and system reliability. Automate mail-sending and deliverability analytics infrastructure to improve resiliency, scalability, and performance. Enhance observability and system reliability, driving best practices for monitoring, scalability, and automation. Improve coding and deployment standards, increasing efficiency through automation and self-service capabilities. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation (1-2 weeks per month) to troubleshoot incidents and ensure system availability. requirements-expected : 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or related fields, and a willingness to grow in MailOps area. Strong proficiency with AWS (EC2, networking, VPS). Experience with IaC tools - Terraform, Chef, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines. Experience with using observability tools like Grafana. Solid SQL skills, especially with Snowflake, and the ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries. Familiarity with Kubernetes and DNS. Knowledge of scripting and experience with Python, Go, PHP, or Ruby is a plus. Experience with cloud-native platforms, microservice containers, and observability platforms (APM, tracing, logging). Strong focus on system performance, reliability, and scaling high-volume email systems.
