Platform Cloud Engineering Manager

We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineering Manager to lead our platform engineering efforts across multiple countries. This role is critical in driving the development of scalable, reliable, and innovative platform solutions while managing high-performing teams and delivering value to our clients. The ideal candidate has a strong background in platform engineering, cloud technologies, and infrastructure management, with proven leadership experience in overseeing large-scale projects and teams. Responsibilities Lead the Platform Engineering discipline, expanding capabilities and services across multiple regions Support team members in their career growth and professional development Develop and execute a long-term strategy for the Platform Engineering unit, including team structures, recruitment, and staffing plans Build and manage high-performing teams of Platform Engineers to deliver on organizational goals Drive the creation and implementation of platform engineering solutions, reusable accelerators, and service offerings Act as the primary technical liaison for clients, ensuring their requirements are met with accuracy and efficiency Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable platform solutions to meet business needs Create and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery processes Leverage tools such as Terraform and Crossplane to implement infrastructure as code for scalable infrastructure management Design and develop internal developer portals using tools like Backstage to improve developer efficiency and productivity Establish observability platforms with monitoring, logging, and tracing capabilities to ensure system reliability and performance Lead the design and management of container platforms using technologies like Kubernetes Promote automation for testing, deployment, and operational tasks to enhance efficiency and minimize manual intervention Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferably STEM) At least 10 years of experience in platform engineering, cloud technologies, software development, and infrastructure management 5 years of experience leading teams of 40 or more employees (or engagements of a smaller size but with high business impact) in roles such as Architect, Manager, Owner, or Coordinator, with a demonstrated ability to guide and mentor teams Participation in at least 8 full lifecycle projects or experience in launching 2 products (or key product capability) to the market Deep knowledge of cloud computing architectures and services Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, monitoring practices, and security standards Proven expertise in managing production infrastructure using tools like Terraform and Crossplane Experience designing and maintaining internal developer portals with tools like Backstage Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing practices Proficiency in container platforms and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes Ability to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders Experience in designing and architecting complex systems Awareness of AI/LLM trends and their impact on developer productivity Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English at a B2 level or higher We offer We gather like-minded people: Engineering community of industry professionals Friendly team and enjoyable working environment Flexible schedule and opportunity to work remotely within Poland Chance to work abroad for up to 60 days annually Business-driven relocation opportunities We provide growth opportunities: Outstanding career roadmap Leadership development, career advising, soft skills, and well-being programs Certification (GCP, Azure, AWS) Unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning, Get Abstract, Cloud Guru English classes We cover it all: Stable income (Employment Contract or B2B) Participation in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan Benefits package (health insurance, multisport, shopping vouchers) Strategically located offices featuring entertainment and relaxation zones, table tennis and football, free snacks, fantastic coffee, and more Referral bonuses Corporate, social and well-being events Please, note: The set of bonuses might vary based on the role you apply for – specifics will be discussed with our recruiter during the general interview We will reach out to selected candidates exclusively EPAM is a leading global provider of digital platform engineering and development services.
