Senior Data Engineer Google Cloud Platform

Are you passionate about transforming data into meaningful insights and building high-performance cloud solutions? We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will play a key role in designing and implementing advanced data architectures within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . You'll work in a dynamic, international environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient data-driven systems. Key Responsibilities & Skills Lead the design and development of cloud-based data pipelines , ensuring efficient ingestion and transformation of data from diverse sources such as APIs, databases, or real-time streams. Use your deep understanding of GCP infrastructure and services to architect robust, maintainable data solutions. Apply strong SQL and database design expertise – with BigQuery as a core technology – alongside experience in NoSQL environments. Develop and optimize code in Python (and other scripting languages as needed) for automation and data manipulation. Apply data modeling , query optimization , and performance tuning techniques to ensure speed and scalability. Build, orchestrate, and monitor workflows using Apache Airflow or similar scheduling tools. Implement ETL/ELT processes and use data transformation frameworks such as DBT or Dataform to deliver clean, analytics-ready datasets. Collaborate closely with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders, clearly communicating complex technical topics in a concise and approachable way. Participate in client discussions to identify new opportunities for process improvement and data optimization. Work effectively in a multinational, distributed setup , following agile principles and modern development practices. Demonstrate familiarity with everyday engineering tools: Git , Jira , Confluence , and CI/CD processes. Maintain a growth mindset and openness to exploring new data technologies and methodologies. Desired Background 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer in cloud-focused projects. Proven success in designing and maintaining large-scale data infrastructure in GCP . Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken. Nice to Have Professional certifications in GCP or big data technologies. Practical experience with BI platforms (e.g., Looker , Power BI , Tableau ). Familiarity with ETL tools such as Talend or Alteryx . Exposure to Apache Spark , Databricks , and Azure ecosystems.
